Connel youngsters all smiles as their hard work rewarded
YOUNG eco-warriors at Achaleven Primary in Connel are flying the flag for saving the planet, writes Sandy Neil.
On their last day of term pupils received their sixth green flag, the highest accolade awarded by Eco- Schools, in recognition of their efforts to ‘keep Scotland beautiful’.
Throughout the year they have picked up litter in the village, designed posters to discourage dog-fouling, and learned how to keep Dunstaffnage beach, and others around Scotland, free from washed up rubbish.
In the same week, the children also won a Fairtrade Fair-Achiever award for hosting a fair trade breakfast.
