AVALON Hair and Beauty continues to rack up prestigious awards, adding the Scottish Independent Retail Awards Hair & Beauty Salon of the Year, Central Region, to its list of accolades.

This award highlights Avalon’s role within its community, as well as its entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen.

Avalon also won Hair Salon of the Year North West Region, at the Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards in November 2014, and again in 2015, as voted for by its own clients.

‘It’s such a nice feeling to know that the award is actually from the clients,’ said Jackie Den Heijer, who, along with her husband, Ian, and mother, Carol Young, own Avalon.

‘It shows that people are getting great services and they are more than happy with our prices. They know they can come in, relax and have a laugh while enjoying a treatment. From the moment they walk in the door to the moment they leave, they are treated like royalty. Instead of focusing on getting bums on seats, we concentrate on building a family with our clients. We listen to them and give them exactly what they want.’

The team consists of Jackie and Carol, along with additional stylist Vanda Brown, beauty therapist Natalie Pacitti, assistant Paula Cameron and trainees Ian Den Heijer and Elaine Boyce, all providing the most innovative therapies available, complemented with the finest professional salon brands for treatments and homecare, such as Wella, Mii and the organic Bronze Leaf Spray Tan. It is also in the process of taking on the Beauty Lab London range and the world renowned Decleor range for skin care.

Located in Oban at 7 Albany Street, Avalon offers the perfect retreat for pampering, offering luxury and convenience that can take care of any beauty regime from top to toe. From waxing to nails, from spray tans to exclusive results- driven skincare lines, expertly trained and experienced therapists provide an extensive range of beauty treatments. And Avalon’s advanced haircare therapies are working miracles on clients’ locks. Ian and Elaine are now offering an Olaplex treatment and blow dry for £ 30.

‘People decide that they want the lightest blonde hair and on a number of occasions this is not possible. But Olaplex is changing things, allowing us to push blondes further than we ever have dared to before, and the results have been amazing.

‘But it’s not just for blondes. Olaplex can help repair the most fragile of hair and is a fantastic all round treatment,’ Jackie shared.

For clients who want to induce hair growth, or have thinning hair for any number of reasons, Nioxin therapy can help stop hair loss and bring back hair. ‘The success stories we’ve had have been phenomenal with absolutely fantastic results.’

For a big night on the town, Avalon offers Instaglam-hair and make-up from only £25. The salon also offers wedding packages, including a complimentary pick-up and drop- off service in Oban.

The salon is open seven days a week, including late on Thursdays and Fridays. New services, last-minute appointments and specials can be found on the Facebook page, or ring 01631 563964.
