Fishing boat is picture perfect
A PICTURE of a fishing boat snapped on an evening cycle ride in Argyll has won the top prize in a new competition for photographs of the Scottish landscape.
The Audrey, Loch Creran, taken by Hugh Nicol, an estates manager from Appin, has been chosen as the winner of the Jolomo Colours of Scotland Photography Competition launched last year by the top Scottish artist John Lowrie Morrison, who lives in Tayvallich.
Hugh said he was ‘absolutely delighted’ and added: ‘When you have somewhere as beautiful as Appin to work with, taking the picture was easy.’
Runner-up was Mairead Maclennan, from North Uist, for Old School, Loch Portain, North Uist.
