-

AN TOBAR welcomes singer-songwriter and guitarist Elliott Morris to Tobermory on Tuesday August 9 as part of his nine-show Lakes, Highlands and Islands’ tour, ahead of his debut album release. BBC arts editor Will Gompertz has described the folk and blues musician music as ‘fantastic…. really high quality stuff’, while comedian Dave Gorman of the TV show Modern Life Is Goodish said ‘his guitar playing is intricate and skilful and his voice is strong and honest … heartfelt folky pop’.

Joining Elliott on the tour will be friend and filmmaker Chris ‘Bing’ Bingham, known on YouTube as Slomozovo, who will be documenting the journey for fundraising fans. The album will be supported by the crowdfunding platform Pledge Music, which allows fans to become a part of the music making experience, gaining access to exclusive content and seeing pledger- only updates that provide insight into the music.

‘This tour is a really exciting one for me,’ said Morris, who averages 120 live shows a year.

‘Using Pledge Music lets me offer my audience far more than if I were to release by myself through a label.

‘With the advance support of my listeners, I can offer not just physical CDs, but I can release the album on vinyl and provide really special extras such as signed artwork prints, handwritten lyric sheets and bonus discs. I can also send exclusive updates from the road and the studio directly to pledgers.’ For more information visit his website or Facebook page.
