Heather takes top prize in Rockfield raffle
HEATHER Kirkpatrick of Torosay Court, Oban, won the top prize of £ 300 in the Rockfield Centre raffle organised by Oban Communities Trust (OCT).
OCT chairman Gordon McNab presented Heather with the cheque at Torosay and she was delighted with her win.
She said: ‘It was a great surprise to hear the news.’ Heather would not be drawn on what she would use the money for but said: ‘It will be something nice.’
Gordon McNab said: ‘We are so pleased to award the cheque to Heather and very grateful to everyone who bought raffle tickets to support the Rockfield Centre.
‘The funds raised will be used for community events at the huts over the summer.’
The raffle raised more than £2,000.
Up and coming events include workshops for children and adults as well as Festival of Architecture displays.
There will also be a beginners’ pottery workshop led by Michaela Goan of Seatree and Pauline Beautyman of Sea Drift Argyll and Create a Crate in August.
Rhona Dougall, arts co- ordinator for the Rockfield Centre, who is organising the workshops, said: ‘This is a fabulous opportunity to learn basic skills for fabric printing, pottery and crafty storage solutions and to take home what you make.’
