Appin
APPIN folk turned out in their droves to a fundraising concert in Appin Village Hall and donated £1,120 to two local causes.
Appin’s Big Night Out, held last Saturday, featured the bands Sutherland’s Groove, SB Rhythm and Blues Band and Rough Edges, solo singers Lora MacLeod and Moira Thomson and the Trish McKay Highland Dancers.
The funds will be split between Port Appin Village Hall and a project to set up an outdoor classroom at Strath of Appin Primary School.
Such was the success of the event, organisers Charlie Rogers, Kirsty McQueen, Lindsay Muir and Julie Weir are considering another Appin’s Big Night Out towards the end of summer.
