Crianlarich needs retained firefighters

-

THE SCOTTISH Fire and Rescue Service is appealing for men and women from Crianlarich to sign up as retained firefighters.

Applicants must be over 18 years and be in good health. They must be able to provide suitable availability and be capable of responding to the station, in the centre of Crianlarich village, within approximately 12 minutes when alerted.

The service provides extensive initial training which is supported by a fortnightly training night held at the station. Successful applicants will develop skills in the use of breathing apparatus, ladders, road traffic collision response, working at height, rescue from water, fire behaviour, first aid, trauma care and more.

The station is also in need of people with good leadership potential, to form part of the station management team.

Anyone who is interested should contact station manager Gordon Kerr on 07770 826972 or email gordon.kerr@firescotland.gov.uk. Alternatively visit www.firescotland.gov.uk/workwith-us/retained-firefighters
