Disgust as human faeces found at Oban attractions

-

POPULAR areas in Oban are being used as a toilet as adult faeces has been found in numerous locations such as the playpark at Atlantis Leisure and McCaig’s Tower, writes David McPhee.

The behaviour has been labelled as disgusting and Argyll and Bute Council has said that anyone caught defecating will be reported to the police.

Lyndsay Elliot, chairwoman of Friends of Oban Community Playpark, said: ‘It’s bizarre and disgusting.

‘There has been two incidents at the park, but we thought the first one could have just been an accident with a child, but on the second incident it was fairly clear that it was an adult.’

A spokesperson for Argyll and Bute Council said: ‘This type of behaviour is not only disgusting, it is against the law and anyone caught behaving in this way will be dealt with by the police.

‘Our staff have taken all necessary measures to clean up and carry out further checks on affected areas.

‘Oban has sufficient public toilet facilities and they should always be used instead of people behaving in this unacceptable manner.’
