Anger grows over unofficial dump

FRUSTRATION is growing over the continued dumping of waste at Mount Alexander industrial site near Banavie.

At a Kilmallie Community Council meeting last month, members condemned the regular disposal of waste materials at the site.

Secretary Russell Leaper said: ‘It is becoming an unofficial dump. There’s years of accumulation. I’ll be contacting the Scottish Environment Protection Agency again as they should explain why they haven’t done anything about it in five years.’

The community council has previously raised the issue with the protection agency and local police.
