Purple bales put smiles on faces at Onich

-

ANGUS and Elaine Cameron’s croft at Onich is proving to be a magnet for tourists and their cameras, thanks to brightly-coloured bale wrapping.

The wrapping - and smiley graphics - have been supplied by agricultural supplies firm Carrs Billington, which continues to support WellChild, a national children’s charity that does amazing work for seriously ill children.

Mrs Cameron told The Lochaber Times: ‘The amount of people who have stopped to look at the bales or take a photo has been unbelieveable.

‘It’s a worthwhile cause and it is also really nice to see the bales making so many people smile.’

Carrs is trying to top the £13,000 donated last year from the proceeds of the purple wrap and netting and from fundraising activities by company staff.

Anyone buying the purple wrap receives graphics to help personalise their bales. The company is also encouraging buyers to send in photographs for the FaceBook pages of WellChild and Carrs Billington.

The display with the most ‘Likes’ will receive a pair of tickets and accommodation to the WellChild Awards.

Through their UK-wide network of children’s nurses, home makeover projects, family support groups and research, WellChild makes it possible for children with serious illness to be cared for at home with their families wherever possible.
