Vote for BID4Oban to help maintain town’s prosperity

-

THIS is a very important time for BID4Oban as tomorrow is the day we discover if our BID has been successful, writes Oban town ambassador Kay McDonald.

I can’t imagine Oban without a BID (Business Improvement District) and I really hope I don’t have to find out what it would be like. I think it would be a poorer place.

On a more positive note, I have had the best job in the world for the past five years, not least because of the people I’ve met and had the chance to speak to, local and visitor alike, the events I’ve been able to be part of and the fantastic colleagues I’ve had the experience of working with.

Not many jobs mean you can be out and about in one of the most beautiful places in the world and get to share your love and enthusiasm for what you do.

If you are a business owner and realise that you haven’t cast your vote, then you have one last chance to make a difference. Take your envelope to the BID4Oban office in Stevenson Street by 3pm and it will be hand-delivered to Argyll and Bute Council in time for it to be counted.

It’s a vital decision for Oban and one which could change what Oban is and what it becomes.

Last week’s photo was taken at the clock tower in Station Square and this week’s is a memento of old Oban.
