Drivers reminded of disruption in Soroba

-

OBAN residents are being reminded that traffic will be disrupted next week by ‘vital’ roadworks in Soroba.

The programme will be see patching work, drainage repairs and kerb replacement in Soroba Road. Argyll and Bute Council will start the roadworks on Monday (October 9) and they are expected to take five days.

Along with the patching work, the drainage channel systems either side of Miller Road will be replaced, along with a gully outside Lorn Resource Centre and a manhole cover in the centre lane. The kerbs at Mathieson House will also be replaced.

During the works there will be single-lane traffic along Soroba Road, controlled by traffic lights, which will be in place on the stretch of road between the Lynn Road and Sinclair Drive junctions on Soroba Road.

No access or exit will be available at Miller Road, which will be closed at the junction with Soroba to the Mathieson House entrance, with diversions via Sinclair Drive and Quarry Road. There will be no exit at Lynn Road. Lynn will be closed from Soroba Road to the entrance to Dunlonan/Buildbase.

All traffic in Lochavullin and Mill Lane will access Soroba Road via Lochside Street and Market Street. The southbound bus route from Soroba Lane bus stop will also follow this diversion. At Market Street, the restriction of right turns will be suspended to allow traffic to turn left or right under ‘give way’.
