LOCHABER Chamber of Commerce represents businesses throughout Lochaber with a focus on encouraging economic growth, job creation and promoting Lochaber as a great place to live, work, study and visit.

Last month’s fifth annual Lochaber Ideas Week was a fantastic success, bringing in record attendance figures across the week of inspiring business events at the Moorings Hotel from November 13 to 17.

From sporting legend Gavin Hastings to Question Time, Around Lochaber in 80 Tables, An Introduction to Mentoring, Tourism Day and the Dragons’ Glen business competition, we were delighted so many members, local business people and interested members of the community joined us.

The key themes of the week were entrepreneurship, mentoring and the ability to debate, engage and network. The week generated a real buzz among the business community, with record numbers of more than 800 attendees taking advantage of business insights, new ideas and networking opportunities.

Huge congratulations to Kinlochlovin’ social enterprise company based in Kinlochleven High School which won the top prize of £10,000 in Dragon's Glen! We look forward to your future success.

The Charles Kennedy Memorial Lecture was this year delivered by Lord Thurso. The audience was treated to an extremely thought-provoking and personal lecture, inspired by his friend Charles Kennedy.

Thank you to everyone who came along to events. It's your Lochaber Ideas Week and you who make it a success. We hope you were able to join us at the events that mattered most to you and that we’ll see you again to share more inspirational ideas in 2018.

At the chamber, we’re committed to helping members achieve their business goals. If you’d like to join our thriving Chamber of Commerce, which includes the Outdoor Capital of the UK destination group, call us on 01397 705765.
