Homemade bike trails concern

UNAUTHORISED mountain bike trails are not only putting riders at risk but damaging land, according to a landowners organisation.

Care for the Countryside, a Scottish Land and Estates initiative, is warning of the safety risks posed by ‘poorly constructed self-built trails’ as well as the affect on the land’s flora and fauna. Karen Ramoo, of Scottish Land & Estates, said: ‘We are concerned these trails can present a danger to riders.’
