Access to HN Business, Administration and IT

Our brand new Access to HN Business, Administration and IT will prepare you for study in Business or Administration and IT at HNC level, and is ideal if you don’t currently have the minimum entry requirements for these courses. We can tailor the course to your interests and even include some computing units which can set you on track for an NC Computing with Digital Media. You’ll learn lots of useful skills and we guarantee to interview you for one of these programmes if you complete the course successfully.

Social Services SVQs

With the Scottish government’s commitment to increasing free childcare to 1140 annual hours by 2020, there’s never been a better time to think about a career in the childcare sector, as this increasing entitlement will require a substantially larger workforce. Our range of SVQs in Social Services Children and Young People, will give you lots of practical experience in working with children and young people as well as a nationally recognised qualification. You’ll attend college for 2 days each week and spend the rest of time in a work placement, where you can put your new skills into practice.

Maritime Skills course

Our Maritime Skills course is available in Oban and Lochgilphead. This combines SQA and RYA / MCA certification so you’ll receive a comprehensive introduction to the maritime industries, as well as gaining internationally recognised certificates.

Part time courses

We also have a range part time courses which can help improve your skills and enhance your chances of getting a job. You might want to brush up on your computer skills with the European Computer Driving Licence. You can study at home, online, at a time that fits around your other commitments, or join an evening class to take a more structured approach.

Degree programmes

As an academic partner of the University of the Highlands Islands, Argyll College also gives you access a wide range of part time and full time degree programmes many of which can be started at the end of January. Visit our website or call us to find out what’s available at your local Argyll College centre and make 2018 the year you Learn, Achieve, and Advance towards your future.
