LOCHABER TIMES HELPS MARK INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
WHAT makes a woman inspirational? writes Mark Entwistle.
Is she someone who paves the way for other women to progress? Is she someone who cares for her family and friends? Perhaps she is someone who works hard for her community and seeks no recognition?
International Women’s Day will be celebrated across the world on March 8 to recognise the many and varied achievements of women.
And to help mark the global event, the Lochaber Times is joining forces with Lochaber Women’s Aid (LWA).
LWA will be staging a display in Fort William Library from Monday, March 5 to March 12, which will highlight inspirational women.
LWA would like people to think about women who inspire and motivate them and share their thoughts with the organisation. It could be a woman who was a teacher and encouraged and inspired a career path; a colleague who has combined work with family and study; a gym, running or shinty buddy. She doesn’t have to be famous. We want to celebrate the inspirational achievements of all women.
To tell us who inspires you, pop into the Lochaber Times office on Fort William High Street and write on our special bunting.
Your inspirational women will then form part of our display in Fort William Library.
International Women’s Day is your day. Help us to inspire the next generation of young women. #PressforProgress
