SCOTTISH music legend Donnie Munro and his band are to headline the 2018 Best of the West Festival at Inveraray Castle on September 7-9.
The former Runrig frontman will perform songs from his earliest Runrig days through to his own most recent compositions.
Born and bred on the Isle of Skye, Donnie’s career has spanned almost four decades.
Speaking from Scorrybreac House, his Isle of Skye home, Munro said: ‘I am absolutely delighted to be playing this exciting event for the first time and to performing in such an amazing and historical setting. This is a great venue for people to come and share music and my experiences throughout the years has shown me what a wonderful atmosphere is created in such special locations.
‘I am very lucky to be bringing with me, some of Scotland’s finest contemporary musicians, most of whom have formed the backbone of my live and studio band over recent years but who have also enjoyed great careers as musicians in their own right. They have played with some of the major names in folk, rock and pop music, including Kate Bush, John Martyn, Fish, Strangeways, John Reid’s Night-crawlers and many others and I an extremely lucky to have such amazing players to form my band.’
