Cowal Community Hospital exceeds casualty targets
COWAL community casualty department at Cowal Community Hospital in Dunoon has exceeded Scotland’s national accident and emergency waiting time targets.
A&E performance figures monitor patients’ waiting times for admission, discharge or transfer for accident and emergency treatment.
The casualty department operates by bringing together a wide range of professional experienced nurses and GPs to provide quality person-centred care and treatment.
There was a total of 636 patients in January from around Cowal peninsula requiring accident and emergency services, 99.8 per cent of them accessing services within four hours and thereby exceeding national quality care performance targets.
Jayne Lawrence-Winch, local area manager for the hospital, said: ‘Winter months can put pressures on services.
‘I am really pleased with the excellent target of 99.8 per cent. As always, staff remain professional and focused on delivering improved services meeting better outcomes for patients. I am thrilled to reflect on the good news.’
