Fusion Marine appoints new manager

FUSION Marine has appointed Iain Macdonald as operations manager in a move that will enable the Argyll-based company to further develop and service its order book.

A former merchant navy deck officer, Iain brings a wealth of experience to Fusion Marine, having most recently worked in Thailand where he was involved in oil and gas subsea constructi­on work.

Based at Fusion Marine’s manufactur­ing facility at Barcaldine, Iain is overseeing the fabricatio­n of fish farm pens and a range of other equipment for the aquacultur­e and marine sectors.

Stephen Divers, managing director of Fusion Marine, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Iain to the team and he has already made a positive impact in the short time he has been here.

‘This appointmen­t underlines the positive economic benefits the aquacultur­e sector brings to the west of Scotland.’

Iain, who is originally from Morar, said: ‘I am enjoying this new role and I have already been able to implement work practices and techniques utilised in my previous employment to good effect here.

‘There is a fantastic team of people here at Fusion Marine and it is great to be part of Scotland’s dynamic and innovative aquacultur­e industry.’
