Police appeal for help to find dumper truck thieves

POLICE in Fort William are appealing for informatio­n following the theft of a dumper truck from a constructi­on site on the A830 at Criche Bridge, Lochailort.

The incident occurred sometime between 5.30pm on Friday March 9 and 7am on Monday March 12.

Entry was gained to the site and the unknown culprits removed the forward tipping dumper truck, registrati­on SE17 ZBD, from within the compound.

The yellow six-tonne vehicle is valued at around £25,000.

Detective Constable Liam Devine said: ‘Our inquiries are ongoing and I would urge anybody who saw a vehicle matching this descriptio­n being moved in the area over the weekend to get in touch.

‘I would also ask anybody who noticed any suspicious activity by people or vehicles in the area to get in touch.

‘Anyone with informatio­n is asked to contact police in Fort William on 101 quoting reference number NP/1491/18.
