WCA National Cup draws

The Women’s Camanachd Associatio­n held their live National Cup draws at Marine Harvest’s Stob Ban Offices in Fort William last Friday evening.

The Women’s Camanachd Associatio­n are indebted to Marine Harvest for their continued sponsershi­p of their Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup and their Challenge Cup.

This year’s finals are to be held at the Dell in Kingussie on Saturday September 1.

Steve Bracken and Jayne MacKay, from sponsers Marine Harvest, made the cup draws.

This year eight teams entered the Valerie Fraser Cup giving four quarter final games, the four top placed teams from National Division last season were seeded and the draw was as follows

Fort William v Lochaber Aberdour v Badenoch & Strathspey Glasgow Mid Argyll v Ardnamurch­an Skye v Strathspey

These games will be played the weekend of April 28 and 29 throwing-up at 2.30pm

In the Marine Harvest Challenge Cup, 14 teams entered. The draw was for six preliminar­y, rounds leaving two teams getting a bye into the quarter finals.

Glasgow Mid Argyll v Kinlochshi­el Lovat v Glengarry

English Shinty Associatio­n v Strathglas­s Oban Lorn v Inverness

Lochaber and Ardnamurch­an received byes into the quarter finals.

These games are scheduled for the weekend of April 21 and 22.
