Group aims to fix travel issues

-

ARGYLL and Bute Council leader Aileen Morton is setting up a working group to tackle the area’s transport and travel issues.

Speaking following a discussion with Humza Yousaf, Minister for Transport and Islands, last month, Councillor Morton said: ‘We depend on planes, trains, automobiles and ferries to keep people and our economy moving across our mix of remote, rural and island communities.

‘There are several agencies, including the Scottish Government and the council, that each play different roles in working to keep those connections live and open.

‘That is why I wrote to the minister to ask for his support in establishing a working group to include all organisations involved in keeping Argyll and Bute moving.’
