The Oban Times

Oban festival one of the best yet

- KAY MCDONALD editor@obantimes.co.uk

I THINK I was right about the 35th Highland & Islands Music & Dance Festival, it was one of the best yet.

One of my favourite things was the music in Station Square. It certainly added to the lively feel in the town. We also had the second of the free walks with Oban Walking Tours, which was full on Saturday, and the response so far has been fantastic, with even locals telling us they’re learning things about Oban. If you’re interested there are still a few places left on the last two free tours. Call me on 01631 569915 or leave a message on the Oban Walking Tours Facebook page.

The next big thing to look forward to is Oban Live, which is less than a month away. If you’re a local business, today is the last day to submit your event or offer for the Oban Live Fringe. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be part of such a major event in the town. If you haven’t seen the Oban Live video about the train journey to Oban, it’s worth having a look on Facebook or the internet. The scenery is gorgeous and it brought a wee tear to my eye. The photograph last week was an easy one, the Black Lynn in Stevenson Street with all the lovely daffodils. Sorry there were no ducks. I’m trying to keep it easy this week as well, so let’s see how you get on.
