Sponsors help Inverlochy shinty to double its firepower

-

INVERLOCHY Primary School will in future be able to field two teams in competitions thanks to the support of Liberty British Aluminium.

As increased numbers turn up for training each week, the company has stepped in to supply extra equipment to allow more pupils to take part.

The firm, which employs many parents and grandparents of the enthusiastic youngsters – including team coaches Robert MacMillan and Bryan Simpson – has covered the cost of strips, sticks, helmets and balls to equip a full team.

Rosie Flannigan, executive assistant for Liberty British Aluminium, who presented the new equipment to the youngsters, said: ‘It’s great to see the children’s eagerness to get involved in shinty. Given our strong links to Inverlochy, we’re very pleased to be able to support and encourage a new generation to get involved.’
