Lochaber Rugby Club enjoy of season dinner

LOCHABER Rugby Club held their annual end of season dinner on Saturday night after a successful first season in the BT West League Division 3.

Known as the smoker, the prize-giving evening sees the club celebrate the highlights of the season so far. BAM Nuttal donated the food for the smoker and Adrian Collins, who works for the firm and is a current player, cooked a four-course meal on the barbecue and his smoker. The club were delighted to make use of his South African roots as he took all day to prepare the full barbecue (braai) spread, which saw him start preparatio­ns at midday before serving at 7pm. The prize-winners on the night were: Player of the year – James Lucas. Players’ player of the year – John Jones.

Most improved player of the year – Alexander Kennard.

The Callum Mercer Trophy – Greg Hendrie.

Club person of the year – Donald Young. Lochaber RFC still have one remaining fixture to play in the league this year as they take on Moffat away from home this Saturday, May 12.

The club would also like to invite all members to come to the AGM on Thursday May 31 at 7pm.
