Lochaber Transport Forum will hold an open meeting on Friday May 11 at 11am at the Duncansbur­gh Church Hall in Fort William. The meeting is open to the public.

Banavie Primary School will hold a fun night tomorrow, Friday May 11, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, with various stalls and activities for young and old, along with music from Lochaber High School Pipe Band, food, home-baking and refreshmen­ts.

Oak Wood Work Party – Kilmallie Community Company will meet on Saturday May 12 at 9am in the layby next to the sawmill in Corpach. All welcome. Jobs to do include repairing a wooden bridge, dismantlin­g at least one unsafe rope swing, clearing up quite a bit of litter, also cutting back vegetation next to paths. Please bring your own tools such as secateurs or pruners. Bags, trailer and litter pickers will be provided.

Lochaber Yacht Club in Fort William is inviting all ages and families to come and try sailing for free on Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13, from 2-5pm. Starting at 2pm each day, there will be sailing ‘taster sessions’ for all ages in dinghies and yachts, led by experience­d club members Refreshmen­ts will be available in the LYC clubhouse. The next meeting of Glenfinnan Community Council is on Monday May 14 at 8pm in Glenfinnan House Hotel.

A charity race night in aid of Lochaber Sensory Care for Sight and Sound Hearing Support is being held in the Volunteer Arms Bar on Friday May 18. The evening event starts at 7.30pm with the first race at 8pm.

Kilmallie Christmas Lights Group will be holding its AGM on Thursday May 17, at the Kilmallie Community Centre in Corpach. The meeting starts at 7.30pm and all are welcome.
