New bus shelter installed
THE long-running saga of the bus shelter outside Fort William Health Centre has drawn to a close with the installation of the much-anticipated permanent structure.
Its temporary wooden predecessor had to be removed after it was vandalised and storm damage then made it unsafe.
The original shelter was knocked down by a bus almost two years ago.
The lengthy wait for Bidwells, the firm of managing agents acting on behalf of the landowner involved, to arrange the permanent replacement led to concern over elderly and unwell patients visiting the health centre having to stand and wait in the wind and the rain.
