Glasgow Islay Gaelic Choir tribute to Runrig

-

As part of the forthcoming West End Festival, the Glasgow Islay Gaelic Choir, conducted by Kirsteen Grant, present their tribute to Runrig in appreciation of the long association they’ve had with the band.

And it will culminate in the choir having the huge honour of performing alongside Runrig at The Last Dance concert in Stirling this August.

The concert for the West End Festival will take place in the Glasgow University Union, University Avenue, at 7.30pm on Wednesday June 13 with special guests Gary Innes, Fiona Hunter, Mike Vass and the Glasgow Islay Junior Gaelic Choir – conducted by yours truly.

May I take this opportunity to appeal for new members of the junior choir. We are currently in the process of changing the evening on which we practice but, if you think you know of a child or teenager who would be keen to join, then please email me.

This concert in tribute to Runrig is exactly the kind of opportunity that makes the choir such a great project for the youngsters.
