MacTavish final promises to be an enthralling affair
The cottages.com MacTavish Cup final takes centre stage this Saturday when Kinlochshiel take on Newtomore at Bught Park, Inverness, at 4pm.
Caberfeidh and Kingussie will have to replay their Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup quarter final tie and Kinlochshiel go two points clear at the top of the Marine Harvest Premiership following the shinty action on Saturday June 9.
Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup – second round Caberfeidh 1 Kingussie 1
Caberfeidh and Kingussie will have to do it all over again after they drew 1-1 in their Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup second round tie at Castle Leod.
Ewen Pilcher returned in goal for Caberfeidh, taking over from Ian MacColl. Craig Morrison started in defence alongside his brother Blair Morrison, with Ben MacDonald dropping onto the bench.
Robert Mabon was still out for Kingussie so Lee Bain played at full back. Keeper Craig Dawson returned, with Louis Munro at centre and James Falconer on the bench alongside James Hutchison and Garry Munro. Roddy Young was missing.
Castle Leod looked splendid in the hazy sun with the pitch in great condition for a shinty match.
There was a sizeable crowd too, making for a good atmosphere.
With Caberfeidh’s Ally MacLennan looking good in the middle of the park, Craig Dawson was the busier of the two keepers, saving well from veteran Graham MacGregor early on.
When Ewen Pilcher was called into action, he made a flying stop to deny Ruaridh Anderson.
Caberfeidh took the lead on 51 minutes. The Kingussie defence were caught out as a low corner came to Graham MacGregor who scored to make it 1-0.
In the second half, Caberfeidh went for the second goal that would surely see them safely into the next round but the Kingussie defence, especially the excellent Alexander Michie, kept them at bay.
Caberfeidh were left to reflect on what might have been when Fraser Munro levelled on 72 minutes. A high ball forward from James Hutchison evaded goalie Ewen Pilcher and Fraser Munro took ad- vantage to score from close in. It was a great game of shinty, with both sides having spells of dominance as the contest swayed one way then the other. A draw was probably a fair result, although Caberfeidh may argue they did just enough to edge it.

Kilmallie and Inveraray will do battle for the penultimate Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup quarter final slot at The Canal Parks this Saturday, whilst the replay between Kingussie and Caberfeidh likely to be scheduled for a week later.
Marine Harvest Premiership Newtonmore 4 Lovat 1
Two title hopefuls met in a 3pm throw-up at The Eilan but this was a more one-sided encounter than many anticipated as Newtonmore beat Lovat 4-1.
Newtonmore’s Michael Russell was free of suspension and started in the unusual position of buckshee forward where his constant running was a problem for the Lovat defence. Norman Campbell marked Marc MacLachlan and Glen MacKintosh, still suffering from a rib injury, was an unused substitute but he hopes to make his return at this Saturday’s cottages.com MacTavish Cup Final against Kinlochshiel.
Lovat defender Mark Kelly joined Scott MacKenzie on the injury list after taking a blow to the ribs against Skye a week earlier.
Newtonmore got off to a great start and when the ball came to Steven MacDonald on the right on three minutes, he drilled a shot home to make it 1-0.
It got even better for the home support on 16 minutes. Jamie Robinson, on the left, struck a shot from distance which was saved by Lovat goalie Stuart MacDonald but Iain Robinson placed the bouncing rebound into the net.
Lovat were forced to replace full back Drew Howie who limped off after going for a ball with Iain Robinson. Daniel Grieve went to full back with Martin Mainland coming off the bench.
Newtonmore were totally dominant and kept creating chances. Evan Menzies cut in from the wing but Stuart MacDonald got a leg to his shot, deflecting it away at the expense of a corner. From the resultant corner, the ball dropped out of the air for Menzies but his spectacular first-time effort went just wide of goal.
Evan Menzies was again denied by keeper MacDonald shortly after when he shot goalwards following a rehearsed free-hit.
Lovat were finding it difficult to pin down Evan Menzies who picked out Iain Robinson who was just off balance as he sent the ball over the bar from just inside the ‘D’.
There was a flashpoint between Steven MacDonald and Callum Cruden late in the half. Referee David Mitchell opted to take no action after consulting his goal judge, whilst Newtonmore boss Paul John MacKintosh immediately replaced Steven MacDonald with Drew MacDonald.
The switch paid immediate dividends as Drew MacDonald scored with his first touch, netting following good lead up play from Iain Robinson, to make it 3-0 at the break.
Fraser MacKintosh pushed on from midfield to hit a fourth three minutes after the re-start with a 20-yard shot from just left of the penalty spot.
Lovat got some consolation when Greg Matheson converted a 67th minute penalty, sending the ball over the right shoulder of keeper Kenny Ross who may just have got a slight touch.
Ewen Fraser and Connor Jones came off the Newtonmore bench but play continued mainly towards the Lovat goal.
Lovat manager Fraser Gallacher put Graeme MacMillan on in favour of Bailey Mackay, with Duncan Davidson going to wing centre.
Stuart MacDonald in the Lovat goal made a number of fine saves to keep the score down and this was as well as Newtonmore have played for some time.
With just a minute remaining, Evan Menzies was denied the goal he deserved when his strike came back off the inside post. The ball rolled across goal, behind keeper Stuart MacDonald who turned and swept the ball away.
Keeper Stuart MacDonald and Duncan Davidson were best for a well-beaten Lovat side with Daniel Grieve also doing well following his switch to full back.
Newtonmore’s Rory Kennedy was the man of the match, snuffing out Greg Matheson’s threat. Kennedy may be the main reason Lovat have struggled to make the best of Matheson’s threat in recent games against Newtonmore. Jamie Robinson and David MacLean controlled the midfield for large parts of the game.
Newtonmore are now three points behind league leaders Kinlochshiel and a point behind Lovat with a game in hand on both teams.
Glenurquhart 1 Kinlochshiel 2
A below par Kinlochshiel beat Glenurquhart 2-1 at Blairbeg to go two points clear at the top of the table. Glenurquhart’s Oliver Black was missing so Chris Mack started whilst Kinlochshiel’s Paul MacRae was fit enough to play.
Kinlochshiel created some early chances without troubling Glenurquhart keeper Stuart MacKintosh but the hosts came back into the match and it took some good defensive play, particularly from Finlay MacRae and Conor Cormack, to keep the contest scoreless at the break.
Glenurquhart introduced Cameron MacKintosh at the break and had to withstand a Kinlochshiel onslaught with Stuart MacKintosh equal to all that was thrown at him.
Ali Nixon made his mark on 57 minutes though when he steered the ball home at the back post. Keeper Stuart MacKintosh got to the ball but could only deflect it high into the net.
A fine individual effort from John MacRae made it 2-0 on 64 minutes. MacRae went wide to gather the ball and used his strength to beat a couple of defenders on a run inside before finding the net from 20 yards out.
Glenurquhart halved the deficit with a couple of minutes remaining. Cameron Bremner found James MacPherson who scored to make it 2-1.
Kinlochshiel saw out the closing stages and it proved to be a good afternoon for Johnston Gill’s men as Lovat’s defeat gives them a two-point cushion at the top of the league.
Glenurquhart certainly looked up for the game, whilst a subdued Kinlochshiel possibly had one eye on this Saturday’s cottages. com MacTavish Cup Final against Newtonmore.
Kyles Athletic 7 Lochaber 1
Kyles Athletic stay level on points with third-placed Newtonmore after they beat managerless Lochaber 7-1 at The Dunoon Stadium.
Kyles’ Callum Miller was on the bench as he is carrying an injury.
Lochaber are without a manager after Neil MacDonald stood down earlier in the week so injured defender Brennan MacDonald looked after the team from the touchline.
Kyles took the lead after seven minutes. Grant Irvine’s shot was blocked, but the Lochaber defence failed to clear their lines and Scott MacDonald scored from inside
the ‘D’. Almost straight from the re-start, Dunky Kerr played a crossfield pass to Roddy MacDonald who beat his man before making it 2-0 from the edge of the ‘D’.
Lochaber went on the attack and home keeper John Whyte was called into action as he saved a Pat Toal drive from 20 yards out.
Roddy MacDonald played a ball in from the left wing on 27 minutes and Robbie MacLeod finished crispy from 20 yards to make it 3-0.
Kyles added a brilliant fourth goal on 33 minutes. Ross MacRae played the ball out from the back to wing centre Gordon Whyte who found Dunky Kerr on the wing and he picked out Grant Irvine who blasted home from well out, to the left of goal.
Lochaber pulled a goal back on 41 minutes. A long ball from Shaun Nicolson was missed by the Kyles defence and Danny Delaney scored from close range, his second goal since his return from injury.
Kyles almost made it 5-1 immediately. A long shy from Thomas Whyte came to Robbie MacLeod at the edge of the ‘D’ and he turned his man before bulleting his second into the roof of the net.
Roddy MacDonald added a sixth three minutes into the second half. Sandy MacKenzie, who came on for Scott MacDonald at left wing forward at the interval, played the pass for Scotland forward MacDonald to get his second goal of the game.
A great save from Lochaber keeper Alistair MacDonald denied Robbie MacLeod a hat-trick but the ball fell to Sandy MacKenzie at the edge of the ‘D’ and he fired home to make it 7-1 with 57 minutes on the clock. The game was certainly won so it was perhaps unsurprising there were no further goals during the final half hour.
John Whyte was largely untroubled in the second half, other than dealing with a Shaun Nicolson effort.
Roddy MacDonald went off with 10 minutes remaining after being caught just above the shin pad with a late swing and Kyles will hope to have him fit for this weekend’s Artemis Macaulay Cup quarter final tie away to Oban Celtic.
Marine Harvest National Division Oban Celtic 2 Kilmallie 4
Kilmallie scored four times in the final 15 minutes of this game as they came from two goals down to beat Oban Celtic 4-2 in their noon throw-up at Ganavan.
Oban Celtic manager Kenny Wotherspoon was without two key forwards in the suspended Andy MacDonald and Ross MacMillan who was injured. Craig MacMillan was also banned.
Kilmallie boss Mark MacPherson was minus the services of forward Daniel Stewart. Liam MacDonald was at full forward where he was well policed by John Hill.
A Daniel Madej effort looped over Kilmallie keeper Shane Gillies to give Celtic the lead on 34 minutes.
Ally McKerracher produced a tidy finish after good work from Daniel MacMillan to make it 2-0 four minutes after the re-start. A pivotal moment followed when referee Lachie Wood awarded Oban Celtic a penalty. With regular penalty taker Ross MacMillan, who hasn’t missed from the spot this season, and Andy MacDonald both missing, Connor Howe stepped up. He struck the ball low and hard to the keeper’s left, but the ball went the wrong side of the post.
It was a let-off for Kilmallie who got themselves back into the game with 15 minutes remaining. The ball took a wicked bounce from a corner and David Hill was adjudged to be just inside the ‘D’ when the ball came off his upper arm. Michael Rodger made no mistake from the spot.
The roof fell in on Oban Celtic as Kilmallie then scored three times in a devastating three-minute spell. Innes Blackhall’s pace caused Celtic problems all game and he netted on 82 and 83 minutes to turn the match 3-2 in Kilmallie’s favour.
Martin Stewart wrapped up the 4-2 win when he scored on 84 minutes.
It was a good enough Oban Celtic performance but with this defeat coming after three consecutive losses against Fort William, they are just not getting the rub of the green at the moment.
And it doesn’t get any easier as Kyles Athletic visit this Saturday in the Artemis Macaulay Cup quarter finals.
Inveraray 3 Glasgow Mid Argyll 1
Fraser Watt scored twice as Inveraray beat Glasgow Mid Argyll 3-1 at The Winterton.
Inveraray’s Garry MacPherson was free of suspension, whilst keeper Scott McLachlan also returned.
GMA had Ewen Murray back in their side.
Fraser Watt got the opener with the only goal of the first half on 35 minutes and he got his and Inveraray’s second a couple of minutes into the second half.
Lewis MacNicol added a third on 54 minutes to make the points safe.
Garry MacPherson will miss Inveraray’s Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup second round tie at Kilmallie this Saturday after he was sent off by referee Ross Brown on 80 minutes for an off the ball incident involving Ewen Murray.
GMA’s Jamie MacFadyen pulled a goal back a minute later but Inveraray stayed in front to take the points.
Strathglass 3 Inverness 2
A Scott Douglas hat-trick gave Strathglass their first league win of the season as they beat Inverness 3-2 at Cannich.
Strathglass were without Josh Fraser as his booking against Oban Celtic a fortnight earlier took him through the disciplinary points threshold, whilst Inverness were missing the suspended David Campbell.
Scott Douglas gave Strathglass the early advantage with goals on four and 25 minutes. James Cameron on 40 minutes and James MacKenzie on 62 minutes made it 2-2.
The goals looked to have earned Inverness a point but Scott Douglas completed his hat-trick with five minutes remaining to give Strathglass a hard-earned 3-2 win.
Beauly 2 Fort William 0
Beauly go fifth in shinty’s second tier after they beat second-placed Fort William 2-0 at Braeview Park.
Jack MacDonald returned for Beauly after missing the previous week’s Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup defeat at Bute. There was also a debut at full back for David Fraser who has joined the club from Aberdeen University. Liam Girvan, Andrew Morrison and Ryan Tillman were all unavailable.
Fort William also had absentees but James Tangney was free of suspension.
Elliot Moir gave Beauly the lead on 11 minutes. Jack MacDonald collected a Steven Holmes shy in space down the Beauly right wing and moved infield before picking out Elliot Moir who sent a low, controlled shot past Fort William keeper Paul Mackay at his post.
Jack MacDonald twice hit the side-netting whilst the home defence had to work hard to contain the Fort William forwards.
Fort William suffered a setback before half-time when they lost promising youngster Victor Smith to injury and this tested their depleted squad even further.
Paul MacKay pulled off a fine save after going one-to-one with Beauly danger man Jack MacDonald.
Beauly boss Alan MacRae introduced Ross Forbes and Dan Lamont for Greg Tillman and Elliot Moir midway through the second half.
And both substitutes were to the fore for Beauly’s match-clinching goal on 77 minutes. Ross Forbes started the move with a ball down the left wing.
Dan Lamont and Sean Stewart kept the ball moving before Forbes flicked it to Robbie Brindle on the right who let fly with a low, rasping strike that bounced in front of keeper MacKay, hitting his left-hand post.
Dan Lamont reacted quickest to the rebound and turned the ball home to make it 2-0.
Fort William were offered a route back into the game on 82 minutes when referee Steven MacLachlan penalised Beauly keeper Josh Grant for playing the ball whilst on the ground.
With regular penalty taker Victor Smith off the park, Alexander MacMillan took the spot-hit, but his effort lacked power and Grant redeemed himself by making the save.
This was a morale-boosting second league win of the season for Beauly who are now only a point behind fourth-placed Inveraray in the division.
Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup – quarter finals Lochside Rovers 2 Kingussie 3
Holders Lochside Rovers are out of the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup after they lost 3-2 to the Kingussie second team in their 3pm throw-up at Ganavan.
A repeat of last year’s final, this was the closest of matches.
Lochside boss Gareth Evans was on holiday so Stephen Sloss looked after the side.
He included Scott McKillop, on his way back from injury, in defence, Daniel Sloss and Aidan McIntyre.
It was a hot day with the game played on a dry pitch and Kingussie started Rory Fraser at full centre with Kevin Thain at full forward. The rest of the squad had the usual youthful look about it.
Kingussie went in front from the penalty spot on 30 minutes when referee Des McNulty ruled Scott McKillop had struck the ball with his arm.
Lochside felt the decision was harsh but Dylan Borthwick kept his composure to score.
Lochside had a chance to level from the spot when they were awarded a penalty following a hack on Aidan MacIntyre. Michael MacQueen failed to convert though.
The Oban side levelled three minutes before half-time when a Niall MacFarlane corner broke to Ross Campbell who scored.
Kingussie regained the lead four minutes into the second half when the ball fell to Russell Menzies inside the ‘D’ and he found the net.
Dylan Borthwick got his second on the hour when he was quickly onto a through ball which he despatched with confidence.
It proved to be a crucial strike as Michael MacQueen made it 3-2 five minutes later. MacQueen got a touch to a long, hopeful ball forward which bounced on its way into the net, deceiving the keeper.
Lochside, who by now had switched Daniel Sloss to centre where he dominated, went all out for a leveller but a mixture of great saves from Kingussie goalie Robert Shiells throughout the game and possibly a lack of their usual desire meant an equalising goal evaded Lochside.
Newtonmore 8 Strathglass 0
The Newtonmore reserves started as favourites against the Strathglass reserves, from the league below and the game went to form with Newtonmore winning 8-0 in their noon throw-up at The Eilan.
Newtonmore’s Chris Sellar was free of a two-match suspension and started on the bench. Paul MacArthur started at full back but was forced off on 15 minutes with what appeared to be a hamstring problem.
Strathglass included Archie Wotherspoon and Ryan Balharry.
Calum Stewart gave a sign of what was to come when he netted in the opening minute.
Craig MacLeod added a second on six minutes before Calum Stewart completed his hat-trick with strikes on 28 and 29 minutes.
Craig MacLeod got his second on 34 minutes and Newtonmore led 5-0 at the break.
Scott Chisholm and Owen Fraser were controlling the midfield, providing plenty balls for the forward line.
Calum Stewart’s fourth strike on 54 minutes was the pick of the afternoon’s goals. Stewart flicked a low cross from the right into the air before lashing the dropping ball into the net from a tight angle. He was immediately substituted.
Newtonmore substitute Chris Sellar added a seventh on the hour and hat-trick specialist Craig MacLeod completed another treble a couple of minutes from time to set up a semi-final tie against either the Fort William seconds or Strachur.
Skye Camanachd W/O v Lochaber
The Skye Camanachd seconds were given a walk-over into the Aberdein Considine Sutherland Cup semi-finals when the Lochaber seconds were unable to raise a team for their tie at Pairc nan Laoch, Portree.
The Skye seconds will now play the Kingussie seconds in the semi-finals with the ties scheduled for Saturday July 7.
Marine Harvest South Division 1 Aberdour 2 Kyles Athletic 2
The Kyles Athletic reserves dropped their first league point of the season, twice coming from a goal down to draw 2-2 with second-placed Aberdour at a sunny Silversands.
Recent hot weather meant it was firm underfoot and despite both sides being short of their full squads, the match was played at a good tempo. Angus Thorburn gave the home side the lead on nine minutes, finishing well following a corner.
Good goalkeeping and the frame of the goal prevented Lisa MacColl’s side extending their lead and it was Kyles who levelled on the half-hour mark when Owen Grant’s looping ball from midfield dropped into the net with Aberdour keeper Tom Bowerman losing the flight of the ball in the bright sun.
Aberdour regained the lead a minute into the second half with Angus Thorburn getting his second with another good strike.
Martin MacFadyen made it 2-2 on 67 minutes. After winning a challenge, his strike from distance took a deflection on its way into the net.
Tayforth 1 Bute 2
Third-placed Bute closed the gap at the top of the table when they beat Tayforth 2-1 at Levenhall Links.
Finlay Stark scored the Tayforth goal but Ian McDonald and Arran Dunn gave Bute victory.
Bute are now a point behind second-placed Aberdour but have a game in hand.
Col Glen 4 Inveraray 3
A Scott MacVicar goal a couple of minutes from time gave Col Glen a 4-3 win over the Inveraray colts at Glendaruel.
The home team only had 12 players to choose from with manager Ronnie MacVicar deputising in goals.
Inveraray fielded a blend of youth and experience with 49-year-old John Smylie at the back and 16-yearold Campbell Watt up front.
Referee Jim Innes allowed welcome water breaks in the tropical temperatures.
Inveraray drew first blood with Campbell Watt pouncing following a save from keeper MacVicar.
Col Glen equalised with a well-hit Finan Kennedy strike on 25 minutes. Some thought Kennedy’s effort had gone wide but the ball went through a hole in the net.
Campbell Watt restored Inveraray’s lead on 31 minutes with a rocket of a shot, high into the net.
Neily Mcnaughton netted on 40 minutes when he punished the Inveraray defence for not clearing their lines making it 2-2 at half-time.
The second half was end-to-end with Inveraray taking the lead for the third time when David Robertson went on a mazy run before striking a low, 30-yarder past the keeper who couldn’t judge the bounce of the ball.
The battling Col Glen side immediately pulled themselves back into the game with a well-angled Scott MacVicar drive from out wide which made it 3-3 on 70 minutes.
Scott MacVicar also had the final say, grabbing the winner on 88 minutes with another well-struck shot.
Taynuilt 1 Ballachulish 1
Taynuilt and Ballachulish shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Taynuilt Sports Field.
Taynuilt’s Gerry Kilmurray was suspended following his red card against the Kyles Athletic second team at the end of May.
The match was played on a fast and fiery pitch.
Ballachulish made the better start and had the home defence under pressure, without really testing Brian Logan in the Taynuilt goal.
Ballachulish made the breakthrough after 20 minutes when Lorne Brown’s long-range shot was stopped by Brian Logan, but Alan Clark was first to react and turned the rebound into the net. The rest of the half was evenly matched with both defences on top.
Taynuilt made a change at half time, bringing on veteran George Reid to play at full forward and his physical presence unsettled the Ballachulish defence.
Taynuilt began to dominate possession and create scoring chances, but a combination of good goal-keeping by Donald Pearce in the Ballachulish goal and a lack of composure from the Taynuilt forwards meant Ballachulish held on to their lead.
That changed on 63 minutes when young Blair MacFarlane showed his fellow forwards how to score, slamming a shot high past the keeper for the equaliser.
Taynuilt continued to have the edge for the rest of the half but with both defences on top, there was no further scoring.
Best for Ballachulish were McPhee, MacLean and MacDonald with Parr, MacFarlane and Campbell best for the hosts.
Over the piece, a draw was a fair result.
Ballachulish face Oban Camanachd in the Artemis Macaulay Cup quarter finals in Oban this Saturday, whilst Taynuilt are off to Bute in the league.
Marine Harvest North Division 2 Lochcarron 1 Boleskine 3
Boleskine knocked Lochcarron off top spot in North Division 2 with a 3-1 win at Battery Park.
Stuart MacRae gave Boleskine the lead after three minutes and James Anderson’s goal on 38 minutes made it 2-0 at the break.
A second from Stuart MacRae five minutes into the second half left Boleskine in control, although Liam Arnott pulled a goal back with 20 minutes remaining.
Lewis Camanachd 3 Caberfeidh 3
Lewis Camanachd extended their unbeaten run to four matches when they drew 3-3 with the Caberfeidh seconds at Shawbost.
The story of the match was two hattricks for Paul Duke from Lewis and Caberfeidh’s Stuart Krzyzanowski.
Paul Duke struck first on 31 minutes when he gathered possession on the left before going on a great run through the visiting defence to score.
Stuart Krzyzanowski opened his account when he pulled Caberfeidh level six minutes later.
Lewis regained the lead on 57 minutes when Paul Duke got his second goal of the game.
Stuart Krzyzanowski did likewise, making it 2-2 with 73 minutes on the clock.
The hosts took the lead for the third time on 78 minutes when Paul Duke completed his hat-trick.
Caberfeidh fought back for a third time as Stuart Krzyzanowski completed his hat-trick, scoring at the second attempt three minutes later.
With Lochcarron losing, this was a point that takes Caberfeidh to the top of the table, whilst Lewis pull
level on points with sixth-placed Beauly seconds.
Kilmallie 2 Strathspey Camanachd 1
Andrew Gibb scored twice as the Kilmallie reserves defeated Strathspey Camanachd 2-0 at The Canal Parks.
Both goals came during the first half, with Andrew Gibb netting on 36 and 39 minutes.
Marine Harvest South Division 2 Glasgow Mid Argyll 3 Aberdour 0
The Glasgow Mid Argyll second team defeated the Aberdour second team 3-0 at Yoker.
GMA’s Scott Anderson scored early in the game, netting after nine minutes with the only goal of the first half.
Ruari MacLeod added a second three minutes after the re-start and Neil Bo Finlayson made it 3-0 on 59 minutes.
GMA stay fourth in the table, whilst Aberdour stay sixth.
There were very few contentious decisions in a match which was well refereed by Glasgow Mid Argyll and Scotland Ladies player Lucy McNulty.
Lucy’s father Des McNulty is also a referee and she became the first female to referee a senior shinty match.

The match between the Bute colts and Strachur at The Meadows will be re-scheduled for a later date.

Lochaber recorded a solid top flight win following the Women’s Camanachd Association shinty action on Sunday June 10.

Glasgow Mid Argyll 1 Lochaber 9 Lochaber beat Glasgow Mid Argyll 9-1 in their match at Yoker.
Kirsty Delaney scored five, Amy Disher grabbed a hat-trick and Caitlin MacDonald got the other.
Ross Brown to referee Glasgow Celtic Society Cup final
Ross Brown will referee the 2018 Scottish Sea Farms Glasgow Celtic Society Cup Final between Kyles Athletic and Oban Camanachd at Taynuilt Sports Field on Saturday June 30.
This will be a first senior final for the former Lochcarron player and manager who was named Marine Harvest Emerging Referee of the Year in 2016.
Brown will receive the coveted Jack Asher Memorial Whistle, an inscribed Silver Acme Thunderer whistle, presented annually since 2016.
The match official team will be made up of goal judges Des McNulty and Graham Fisher whilst last year’s Camanachd Cup Final referee Lachie Wood will be the fourth official.
Throw-up is at 4.05pm and the final will be broadcast live on BBC Alba.
Balliemore Cup Final venue announced
The Camanachd Association has confirmed the 2018 Liberty British Aluminium Balliemore Cup Final will be held at An Aird, Fort William, on Saturday July 14. Throw-up will be at 2.30pm. The semi-final between Fort William and Glasgow Mid Argyll will take place at Taynuilt Playing Field on Saturday June 23 with a 2.30pm throw-up.
The other semi-final between Beauly and Kilmallie will be held at Craigard, Invergarry, at 1pm, also on Saturday June 23.
