WHAT’S ON in Lochaber
Caol Youth Centre is hosting an event today (Thursday June 14) on how to start a science or Science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) club.
Teachers, school staff, parents, community groups and after school clubs are all welcome. The drop-in event runs from 4pm to 6pm.

Mòd Aird nam Murchan is on Friday June 15 and is once again being held in Ardsgoil Aird nam Murchan and Arainn Shuaineirt in Strontian.
Competitions start at 9.15am and continue until 5pm. Visitors welcome. Competitors are drawn from the peninsula’s five primary schools and Ardsgoil Aird nam Murchan. Organisers are delighted to welcome Coisir og Mhuile from Mull and adult entries plus Bùrach in the afternoon.
A prizewinners’ concert will be held in the evening at 7pm in Arainn Shuaineirt with the chairwoman this year Audrey Paterson, Taynuilt. This year a plaque is to be presented in memory of Charlie MacColl of Acharacle and Fort William. Visitors welcome.
Lochaber Beekeepers Association is hosting a skep/basket-making workshop on Saturday June 16 from 10am to 4pm at Kilmallie Community Centre, Corpach.
Everyone is welcome to the one-day workshop where they can learns to make a skep or basket from raw materials. Bryce Reynard is the tutor and the cost is £50 per person.

A coffee morning and raffle will take place on Saturday July 7 in aid of Barking Mad Dog Rescue which rescues and rehomes dogs from the streets and kill shelters of Romania.
The team has recently rehomed two dogs from the charity and wanted to boost the charity's coffers by organising the events.
There is more than £1,000 worth of prizes donated by local and national businesses.
The event will be held in Ballachulish Hall from 10.30am until 1pm with highlights including a book stall, tombola, table top treasure hunt and guess the birthday of the dog.
