The Chamber

Making connections and increasing understanding of each other’s businesses is an important part of the work of Lochaber Chamber of Commerce.

That’s why, as well as business training events and social get-togethers, we also offer business showcases and site visits in our busy events programme. It’s a great way for us all to learn more about the range of fantastic businesses operating in Lochaber that we know about … but don’t really know about.

Chamber members enjoyed a visit to The Underwater Centre last week to find out more about what the company does there.

Around 20 people from member businesses went along for a fascinating insight into the range of subsea training and equipment sea-trials going on below the surface of Loch Linnhe.

Participants learned The Underwater Centre is the world’s leading subsea training centre, equipping commercial divers, remotely operated vehicle pilots and support staff with the highest levels of training to work in the subsea industry around the world.

Chamber members also got the rare opportunity to walk down the private pier to observe operations.

Our next site visit and lunch will be at Marine Harvest on Thursday September 13. If you have always wanted to see behind the scenes at its operations and find out more about Lochaber’s part in this global company, join the Chamber and sign up to attend. We look forward to meeting you there.

At Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, we’re committed to helping our members achieve their business goals.

If you’d like to join, give us a call on 01397 705765 or visit www.lochaberchamber.co.uk.
