Univer­sity of Third Age cel­e­brates birth­day

Mem­bers of Oban U3A cel­e­brated their 10th an­niver­sary at the Cor­ran Halls on Tues­day.

Oban U3A has grown to 120 mem­bers and 19 in­ter­est groups that meet in var­i­ous venues since it be­gan.

Groups in­clude var­i­ous lan­guages, sci­ence, ge­ol­ogy, wild­flow­ers, out­door ac­tiv­ity groups and many more.

The Univer­sity of the Third Age is for peo­ple of a cer­tain age who are no longer work­ing full time and come to­gether to learn for fun.

Every­one is wel­come to at­tend the monthly meet­ings, held on the first Tues­day of the month at 10.30am in the Cor­ran Halls.

The group meets to find out what is hap­pen­ing in the U3A and to hear in­ter­est­ing talks by in­vited speak­ers.

Some of the mem­bers of Oban U3A help cut the birth­day cake to cel­e­brate the group’s 10th an­niver­sary.
