Bravo, bra walkers

-

Women from across the region put on their bras to give extra support to a good cause, writes Kathie Griffiths.

Thirty-nine women joined a sponsored Twilight Walk from the Victory Hall in Benderloch.

Organiser Nicky Murphy said the event had brought in £1,985 towards a Pink Ladies pampering day for women who have experienced breast cancer.

The special day, now in its fifth year, is on November 30 at Loch Fyne Hotel in Inveraray. The day costs around £5,000 to put on for women who benefit from the day of pampering, fun and friendship. Women can bring someone with them to share it – last year 85 women attended.

Funds towards the Pink Ladies Day also came from a choir performance at Oban’s Royal Hotel (turn to p25), and a coffee and cake event in Oban.

Ms Murphy said: ‘It was wonderful to see 39 women turn up for our Twilight Walk in their decorated bras. Prizes went to one lady who put spotlights on hers and the other prize went to friends who turned their bras into unicorns. Thanks for the support.’
