APPIN
Oban and Lorne Strathspey and Reel Society has started its 75th consecutive year with a concert in
Appin Village Hall in support of Appin Parish Church Fabric Fund.
The concert, organised by Margaret Ross, has raised £435. The concert was well-attended with great local support.
Soloists for the evening were Oban’s Freddie MacKenzie, Appin’s Moira Thomson and Helen Jordan, Strathspey and reel, accompanied by Winnie McNicol.
The evening’s entertainment gave people a flavour of what to expect in April 2019 when the Strathspey and Reel Society holds its 75th annual Fiddlers’ Rally in Oban’s Corran Halls.
Rally rehearsals begin today (Thursday September 13) in Oban Guide Hall at 7.30pm. All interested musicians are welcome.
