Oban High School Pipe Band to play at We’ll Walk This Road Together charity gig

The acclaimed Oban High School Pipe Band is set to play at a charity concert this month, writes David McPhee.

The band will perform at We’ll Walk This Road Together in the Corran Halls on September 22 alongside Manran, Skerryvore and Skipinnish.

The event is being organised by DMI Cancer Trust and will raise money for Pancreatic Cancer Scotland.

Making the announceme­nt, DMI posted online: ‘We are absolutely delighted to share the news that the very VERY talented Oban High School Pipe Band will have the opportunit­y to perform and entertain you at the DMI Charity Gig.

‘Tickets still available exclusivel­y from the Corran Halls, Oban.’

The post continued: ‘This is the finale concert of the DMI Charity which was set up in 2012 in memory of family members and friends who sadly lost their battle to this awful disease.

‘Over £60,000 has been raised and donated to date, split between Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie Nurses.

‘This year all proceeds will be donated to Pancreatic Cancer Scotland.

‘Please show your support and come along to the concert and make it a night to remember.’

Oban High School Pipe Band performed at Oban Live this year with Skerryvore and entertaine­d the crowd with their LED drumsticks.

The We’ll Walk This Road Together charity concert will start at 7.30pm on Saturday September 22.
