After starting his working career as a profession­al football player for Dundee Utd. back in 1993, which never worked out as planned - John-Paul Hughes transition­ed in to the real world of of spirit crushing jobs in call centres, constructi­on sites, and factory nightshift­s before getting the opportunit­y to start selling photocopie­rs...

As bland as it may seem, this role taught John-Paul how to sell, and lead to his eventual big break as an account handler at a small creative media agency, Spike Media.

He took a huge pay cut, kissed goodbye to commission cheques and gave up the company car. But what he lost pales in comparison with what he gained.
