Lochaber Sea Cadets looking for recruits to join Fort William unit
The Lochaber Sea Cadet unit is seeking volunteers and cadets, writes Neill Bo Finlayson.
The group is looking for enthusiastic people to join its team, based in Fort William, which aims to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.
As an instructional volunteer at Lochaber Sea Cadets there are many opportunities for personal development while passing on knowledge and life experience to young people aged 10 to 18.
The unit would welcome volunteers from a military, teaching or professional background, however if anyone has a good level of enthusiasm, a passion for development, and an understanding of working with young people from all backgrounds in life, the team would love to hear from them.
If anyone has skills in leadership, business or administration and would like to oversee Lochaber Unit’s operation, they should consider joining the unit’s management team. They could help manage the finances and budgets, help fundraise for the unit, organise events, write press releases for media or build corporate relationships with businesses.
Lochaber cadets are also looking for young people, aged 10-18, to join the vibrant unit.
As a nautical charity, the sea cadets’ vision is to provide the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun, and fun is at the forefront of what they do. Sea cadets gives young people a new perspective, broadens horizons and creates possibilities.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering or in becoming a cadet and would like more information, should please contact Kelly Giblin (sea cadet development worker) on kgiblin@ms-sc.org or call on 07807 274637.
