z A race night is being held at Tradewinds, Corpach, to raise funds for Kilmallie's Christmas lights. The evening starts at 8pm on Saturday October 13.
z A new top games club for youngsters, Fort William Board Mania, had its first meeting at the LAD cafe in Caol on Sunday October 14 at 2pm.
Entry is £2 per child and a responsible adult must stay. Find the club on Facebook groups.
z Peter Cairns, photographer and director of Scotland: The Big Picture, will give a talk on rewilding and pose the question What should Scotland look like? on Monday October 15. Lochaber Natural History Society is hosting the event in the Ben Nevis Hotel, Fort William, starting 7.30pm. Adults £4, children free.
z Representatives of Lochaber Sensory Care for sight and hearing support will be at Abbeyfield Care Home in Ballachulish on Monday October 15 from 10.30am until 12.30pm to provide free assistance and advice to those with a hearing or sight impairment – Abbeyfield residents and Ballachulish villagers.
Team members will also re-tube and maintain NHS hearing aids and supply NHS batteries. No appointment required and the service is free.
z Lochaber Transport Forum will hold its open quarterly meeting and annual general meeting at Duncansburgh MacIntosh Church Hall, Fort William, at 11am on Friday October 26.
