Brave Megan raises £1,300 for charity

-

A Lochaber youngster said goodbye to her beloved locks last week after an unforgettable trip to the hairdresser's.

Megan Pescod, from Corpach, took the brave decision to shave her head last Friday and sacrifice the hair that she loved in the name of charity.

The Lochaber High School S1 pupil has been fundraising for weeks as part of the nationwide Brave the Shave for Macmillan campaign to raise money for people living with cancer.

The recent fundraising stunt has helped Megan smash her initial fundraising target of £150, by raising just over £1,300 so far.

Having had family and friends affected by cancer, the youngster has previously hosted coffee mornings in aid of Macmillan after hearing about the work of the charity at school.

Megan's hair has also been posted to The Little Princess Trust, which provides real hair wigs free of charge to children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost their hair because of cancer treatment.

Megan and her family would like to thank everyone for all the support, sponsorship and donations and would like to give a special thanks to Ashleigh Fraser at Caol Cuts Hair Design.
