Networking: does the very word make your heart sink? You’re not alone!

The idea of being forced to chat to sell your business and yourself at events can be seriously daunting. But it’s also known to be one of the best ways to make direct and meaningful business connections.

That’s why we created our Around Lochaber in 80 Tables fast-moving networking event during Lochaber Ideas Week.

It is designed to be easier, more relaxed and more effective than other, run-ofthe-mill networking events.

Now back for its fourth year, Around Lochaber in 80 Tables has already connected hundreds of businesses and led directly to many new ventures. Businesses from all sectors come together to chat, find out about each other and promote what they do in a structured and fun format that sees staff from each business move around the room with a few minutes to chat to each other’s business on short ‘speed-dates’.

It’s fast-paced, fun and pretty noisy. Businesses are encouraged to bring two members of staff along where possible, as this allows for the most contacts to be made. Businesses are then invited to spend the coffee breaks chatting to those they have identified as key contacts for them.

We will once again be guided around the room by our expert compere, Laurence Young of Glencoe Activities, who keeps everyone on track and in the right place.

If you haven’t been to many networking events this year, or any year, come along and give Around Lochaber in 80 Tables a try on Tuesday November 13. The event is open to all businesses in Lochaber.

We look forward to helping you make fantastic new business connections.
