Dragons’ Glen is no myth!

-

Now in its fifth year, Lochaber Chamber of Commerce is delighted to bring you a bigger, better, faster Dragons’ Glen as part of Lochaber Ideas Week 2018, with an enticing £10,000 prize money up for grabs.

We’re bringing in some big changes for 2018 - for the first time ever, the winner will be announced at the end of the event AND you, the audience, will also get your chance to ask questions and have a say!

Inspired by the format of the famous TV show, Dragons’ Glen is always a highlight of Lochaber Ideas Week. Lochaber Chamber of Commerce is delighted to be able to present such an accessible business competition that celebrates creativity and innovation for the whole community.

Our dragons – entrepreneur Angus MacDonald, Emma Parton of the Highland Soap Company, Andy Meldrum of Glencoe Mountain Resort, and Ali MacLeod from the National Trust for Scotland - have an enormous amount of business experience between them: from successful start-ups in publishing and soap-making to running a mountain resort and sourcing funding for international projects, they’re savvy in assessing what is going to work. They’re ready to inspire the future generation of entrepreneurs right here in the Outdoor Capital of the UK.

Former winners of the prize money donated by the West Coast Communities Fund administered by Foundation Scotland include fashion designer Lorna Gillies, pod-building business Clan Pods, Three Wise Monkeys indoor climbing centre and Kinlochlovin’ social enterprise company. All businesses have found the Dragons’ Glen experience and investment hugely beneficial to their growing business success.

Dragons’ Glen is open to all Lochaber residents, aged 16 or over, who have a business idea, and for businesses wishing to diversify or introduce an innovative new concept. This year’s competition has attracted a diverse range of fantastic business ideas and we can’t wait to introduce you to them!

Come along to the Ben Nevis Distillery on Wednesday 14th November from 5 – 8pm to watch the hopeful applicants deliver their new business pitches to the dragons and pick your favourite!

Tickets cost just £6 (plus online booking fee). To find out more and book tickets visit www.lochaberchamber.co.uk
