Kyokushinkai Karate

Young Darryl McLaughlin did himself and his club proud at the British Open Knockdown Karate tournament in Crawley on Saturday October 6.

Darryl had two tough fights, unfortunately getting knocked down in the second match with a well-timed kick to his head against a much larger opponent from Ireland.

The club has a junior tournament organised for Saturday November 3 in Lochgilphead, then the next big event is the Scottish Open on March 2 2019. Instructor Iain Rodger is trying to arrange for Darryl’s two opponents to attend the Scottish Open for a re-match.

The club is now concentrating on syllabus work for the next grading test in December. The next intake for new starters will be after that test.

For further information on the club please contact Iain Rodger (6th Dan) for a chat on 07584 166542 or iain@ ikku.co.uk. Alternatively send a message to Caledonia Kyokushin on Facebook.
