Leader rubbishes council plan

The idea of a new ‘super-council’ that would remove Helensburgh and Lomond area from Argyll and Bute has been rubbished by the council’s leader.

A study by academics at the University of Sheffield says Helensburgh and Lomond should become part of a Greater Glasgow council. Councillor Aileen Morton said she does not expect to see the recommendation become reality.
