Oban Sea Kayak Race has windfall for lifeboat
The organisers of the Oban Sea Kayak Race presented a cheque to the Oban lifeboat and crew members for the sum of £1,500, the proceeds from the 2018 Oban Sea Kayak Race, which took place on Saturday August 25.
This takes the total donated to the Oban lifeboat from this event since its first race in
2010 to £18,600.
Oban Sea Kayak Race would like to thank the following for their help, without which, the event could not take place: Neil Matheson, Dr Erik Jespersen, Struan and Cameron Smith of Coastal Connection and to Dr Hue Forbes, manager of the Kilbowie Outdoor Centre for the use of the centre and facilities during the race.
The organisers would also like to thank all the businesses and individuals around Oban Bay who continue to support and sponsor this event and make it the success it has become.
