Spectacular events light up winter nights explosively

-

It is to the great credit of all involved that there has been widespread praise for the bonfire nights and fireworks displays held over the past week or so in Oban, Taynuilt and Dunbeg.

Andrew Spence, chief executive of BID4Oban, was even moved to say he thought this year’s fireworks in Oban were the biggest and best to date. He was also quick to thank Scottish Sea Farms for its generous funding of the event.

It was heart-warming also to see the return of bonfire night celebrations at Taynuilt after an absence of nearly 20 years.

And there was added cause for praise at Dunbeg where the organisers dedicated the event to little Harris McGougan, the threeyear-old who has been battling leukemia. Funds raised will go towards his appeal.

Hundreds of people turned out to view the spectacular, explosive lighting up of the night skies.

Well done to all involved in organising, funding and supporting the traditional November celebrations.
