MULL

-

A charity on Mull is urgently looking for volunteers to spare a few hours a week.

Home-Start Mull is asking people to donate two to three hours per week to help families on the island.

‘Home-Start volunteers help families with young children deal with the challenges they face,’ the charity writes on its website.

‘We support parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children.’

A Mull entrepreneur’s business has been crowned Scotland’s Best Outdoor Adventure Experience 2018.

Ewan Miles’s business, Nature Scotland, was established in 2016 and sees him provide wildlife tours on the island. He received the accolade at this year’s Scottish Outdoor and Leisure Awards.

He said: ‘I am delighted to win the award for 2018. I feel that I have totally committed my life to the business during the past few years to make it successful.

‘There have been a lot of rewards but also a lot of challenges as well, so receiving this trophy is a real highlight for me.’
