Inaugural Tobermory Book Festival is real page turner

-

Organisers were delighted with the inaugural Tobermory Book Festival, held over the weekend of October 25-28.

Almost 500 tickets were sold for West Over Sea, with highlights of the weekend being the sold-out dinners to celebrate the Campbells of Canna, with moving performances by Mòd Gold Medal winner Fiona Mackenzie, and with the legendary Sandy McCall Smith.

From cookery demonstrations from Lady Claire MacDonald to performances by Colin MacIntyre of Mull Historical Society, the festival was a huge success and the organisers will soon be starting work on next year’s programme.

In glorious weekend weather, Tobermory proved what a great venue it is for an event such as this.

One of the organisers, Hugh Andrew, said: ‘It was a fantastic weekend and we’re already looking at starting to plan next year’s event.’
