❚ Lochaber Music for All presents the Kapten Trio tonight, Thursday November 15, at St Columba’s Primary School at 7.30pm. Tickets available at the door.

❚ The Kilmallie Christmas lights switch-on takes place on Saturday, November 16 at 7pm at Kilmallie Community Centre, Corpach. All welcome.

❚ Kilmallie Community Company is holding a work party on Saturday morning (November 17) from 10am to 12.30pm. Meet at 10am at the lay by opposite the sawmill. The main job is to clear paths. Other jobs include clearing up any litter, and removing rhododendr­on. For further informatio­n contact Paul Biggin 01397 772459. All volunteers are welcome.

❚ Friends of Nevis invites people to join the Glen Nevis autumn litter pick and curling pond tidy up on Sunday, November 18, from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Meet at the Ben Nevis Highland Centre (Woollen Mill) at 10.30am.

All safety and litter picking equipment provided, together with refreshmen­ts and lunch. Under-18s must be accompanie­d by an adult family member, and sturdy footwear and waterproof­s are advisable. ❚ Lochaber Athletic Club’s AGM will take place on Sunday November 18, 7.30pm at Lochaber Yacht Club, Fort William. This is a good opportunit­y to discuss the ‘running’ of the club, raise ideas and make suggestion­s. All welcome.

❚ Lochaber Sensory Care for sight and hearing support will be visiting Abbeyfield Care Home in Ballachuli­sh on Monday, November 19.

LSC representa­tives will be on hand from 10.30am to 12.30pm to offer advice and support to residents and members of the public. The team will also provide NHS hearing aid batteries and re-tubing. No appointmen­ts required.

❚ Kilmallie Community Centre is holding a grand ceilidh in aid of Bun-Sgoil Ghaidhlig Loch Abar and the community centre on Saturday November 24.

The event runs from 7.3011.30pm and music will be supplied by a range of artists, including the Bruce Lindsay Scottish Dance Band and Edinburgh Postal Pipe Band, plus singers Norman MacKinnon, Donald Angie Matheson, Ruaridh Grey and Joyce Wright. Admission £8.

❚ Lochaber Foodbank will hold its annual collection in the Tesco store in Fort William November 29/30 and December 1, from 10am till 4pm each day.

Foodbank volunteers will be there for the collection­s, and all food and money collected stays in the area to help the local communitie­s.

❚ Kilmallie Community Centre is holding its annual general meeting on Thursday November 29 at the hall in Corpach at 6.30pm.

❚ Lochaber Camanachd Club is hosting its AGM on Saturday December 8 in the Bridge Cafe, Spean Bridge at 4pm. All players, members, supporters or anyone interested in shinty are welcome.
