Memorial tree has been relocated
The Dunblane memorial tree at Oban High School has been temporarily relocated while work to complete the £32 million school is carried out.
Pupils moved into the new school in April of this year and the old one was demolished to make way for a new car park and recreation and seating areas. Both hard and soft ground works are proceeding at ‘a good rate’, according to the school’s newsletter, with underground rock being removed.
The Dunblane memorial tree will be replanted once the preparatory work is complete. Trees have already been planted to the south of the school, as well as on the new pathway.
In its monthly newsletter, the school said: ‘We appreciate your co-operation and patience during these works and we will continue to ensure any disruption is kept to a minimum.’
