‘Awesome’ new book delivered to Argyll pupils
Copies of Diary of a Brilliant Kid: Top Secret Guide to Awesomeness have been delivered to schools in Argyll.
Schools receiving the books include Oban High School, Tiree and Tobermory High Schools, Campbeltown Grammar School, Islay and Lochgilphead High Schools and Tarbert Academy.
Based on the science of positive psychology, Diary of a Brilliant Kid is an interactive collection of science, stories, theories, top tips, quotes – and occasional mayhem.
Co-written by Gavin Oattes, Dr Andy Cope and Will Hussey, the book is packaged so that children can learn to take charge of their own well-being and includes pages allowing ‘tweenagers’ to add their own input and drawings.
Gavin Oattes, an award-winning comedian who is managing director of Scotland-based company Tree of Knowledge and an international keynote speaker, said: ‘The book is all about positive psychology for children, but it has the right balance between being funny, cheeky and informative with all the right messages to help kids navigate life. I hope youngsters, their teachers and parents across Argyll will enjoy it and benefit from it.’
